Today I had to come to the realisation of my schedule. I just can not contribute the time that is needed for this internship. It has been really hard with the kids being home and not being able to fully focus my time and effort into this craft. I had to break the news to Jonathan.

To my surprise he was super understanding. This company means more to me than any other career before. When I worked in hospitality, I had to report for set times, work crazy hours and never get a pat on the back. It was work work work. When I lost my job in March I had no direction or any idea where to go. But I waited and waited. Aloha Connections came out and helped our community for displaced workers from Covid. I joined six days ago the team over at GameDevHQ and had no experience. But this team and leadership including Jonathan have helped me. Sorry I kind of went on a rant there. In the end Jonathan said simply no sweat, offered me part time ours and less restrictive schedule!

I am now able to continue this course thanks to my team leads and under the guidance of Jonathan! I can truly say that I feel part of a team and a work family even tho I can not physically see anyone most of the time. I am able to communicate in our chat and communicate over the web. I am truly lucky to be apart of this. Looking forward to the coming weeks!

I live my life by a quote I read off a wall in Iraq… “I refuse to tip toe through life only to arrive safely to death” Currently on the path to a new me!
