My First Day in a new direction with Gamedevhq…

Today was a world wind of excitment. I got to do a 9AM zoom meeting with Jonathan at Gamedevhq for a possible internship with his company. We spoke for about 30 minutes and he offered me a position to learn how to write code for video games. I have never learned this but during this pandemic, it has taught me to step out into the unknown and try something new. So I did!

I had multiple tasks including a new purchase of a Mac cause currently my children are still stay at home and full time online students. So I invested into my new career! I got help from team lead Joanne who I was lucky to speak to over the zoom chat. She coached me to not be nervous and to just try and start learning the language. I watched a lesson given by Jonathan later in the day and I am not going to lie. I was lost… But Joanne reassured me that it is ok to not know this right now. That was a relief to say the least.

I spent the rest of the afternoon making time to start up my new Mac and getting all the tasks that were given to me including getting my own domain. Still lost on all this but I am eager and excited to learn this and move forward in a new direction thanks to the community here at Aloha Connections who got me connected with Gamedevhq!
